The difference between me and Dr. Dooley in the morning. After breakfast, I'm always ready for more food. Patrolling under the kitchen table is a great way to make sure no scrap gets left behind. Mama thinks I'm a great floor mopper. Dr. Dooley's priorities are different. He can't wait to get back to sleep after a walk and bowl of food. He says that anything under 24 hours of sleep a day is rough. Poor guy is missing out. Oh well, that means more food for me!

Scarlett, Scarlett, Scarlett!!!
Ever since Scarlett arrived four days ago, Mama has been talking about nothing else. It's always Scarlett, Scarlett, Scarlett! We're not sure what to think about her yet. We like the fact that she doesn't try to chase us or dig into our condo. So far she's only been watching us if she's not ignoring us altogether. Mama assures us that is a good thing. I'm not so sure. Bunnicula doesn't care one way or the other. He rarely does about anything but food. However, I'm always watching her back. Just to make sure her watching us isn't because she's wondering what we'll taste like. You can never be too careful being a prey animal.

Cleo
A couple of days ago, I decided to play a little trick on Mama. I threw myself down on the top of the condo and fell asleep with my feet straight in the air. I really was just comfortable and tired, but it has a way of freaking Mama out. I woke up to the flash of her camera, which wasn't so nice a way to wake up. She was laughing when I gave her my most peevish look. It was a great way to steal some attention back from Scarlett. I might consider doing it more often.

Welcome Scarlett!
Hi, I'm Scarlett! I'm finally here with my forever family, and I am incredibly excited. I absolutely LOVE them already. Especially my new Daddy and Mama. Look at me with my Daddy! Isn't he handsome? I think he's the best. These pictures were taken when my family first met me and on our way home. Mama and Daddy were really surprised that I don't resemble my listing photos. I'm even cuter in person if I say so myself.
Here I am with my foster brother, Dr. Dooley. He doesn't mind sharing Mama and Daddy with me at all. He's a real sweet fellow. The bunnies are not sure what to think about me yet, but I am very eager to get to know them better. Mama says that might take some time. We'll be friends in no time. I'm sure of it.

Here's The Story
Scarlett has made it to Atlanta! We wrote her a song. Mama's got a little obsession with an old show called the "Brady Bunch" so we have adapted the intro music for our song. Thought it was fitting.
Here's the story of two fluffy bunnies
Who were living in a condo three squares tall.
Cleo had a hairy mane, like a lion.
Bunnicula a hairy ball.
Here's the story, of a pug named Scarlett,
Who was busy finding a home of her own,
At a shelter, animals living all together,
Yet she was all alone.
Till the one day when the hoomans met this sweet girl
And they knew it was much more than a hunch,
That this group would somehow form a family.
That's the way we all became the Punny Bunch.
The Punny Bunch,
That's the way we all became the Punny Bunch.
The Punny Bunch.

Hoping and Dreaming
If all goes according to plan our family is about to grow by four more feet in a couple of days. Mama and Daddy spent endless hours searching for a young pug to add to our family. Although the journey has only taken a couple of months so far, it consisted of 12 applications, 13 potential pugs and 10 heartbreaks.
Mama and Daddy applied for Scarlett the pug back in January. They were told that she had a lot of interest already, but they were not dissuaded. When the first approved application fell through, Mama and Daddy's just happened to be next in line. Mama was thrilled when she received the call. Then she was told that Scarlett had a luxating patella and would require surgery sooner rather than later. The rescue shelter that is currently taking care of Scarlett said that they could not afford the thousands it would cost for the surgery. Mama did some research and discovered that the animal hospital she takes our foster siblings to specializes in that kind of surgery. They also quoted a price that was half of what the rescue had quoted. It is still expensive, but much more feasible. Daddy said no. He said he didn't want to adopt a dog only to have to pay that much right away. Mama was sad. She called back the rescue to let them know. Luckily, she got the rescue manager on the phone who informed her that Scarlett's condition is very mild, and although it's degenerative, she wouldn't need surgery for awhile (if at all). Daddy said yes. Then Mama was informed that the rescue does not put their animals on hold even though we had an approved application. It just wouldn't be fair if we somehow flaked out or changed our minds while Scarlett sat waiting. Unfortunately, our family was heading north for a week long trip and would not be able to get Scarlett right away. While our family was gone, Mama checked on Scarlett's listing every day. One day she noticed it was no longer available and she became very sad. Daddy was sad too. Mama called a couple of days later to confirm whether Scarlett had been adopted. The nice lady on the phone told Mama that a family in Atlanta, GA would be adopting Scarlett and coming to pick her up soon. Mama realized the lady was talking about us. She and Daddy were so excited that the rescue decided to put Scarlett on hold for us afterall. Now we get to meet Scarlett soon. Our hoomans cannot wait. Even our hooman sister who usually does not like dogs except Dr. Dooley, our senior pug foster brother.
Scarlett will likely need some time to learn how to behave around Bunnicula and Cleo, but we are confident we can make it work.
Here she is by the way. She looks like a happy girl.
