Hello friends! It's been awhile. We have been very busy, and we have some news to share. First off, we got a new foster brother. His name is Ziggy, and he appears to be some sort of Chihuahua mix. We are thinking maybe Corgi because his legs are so short. He's really tiny. Almost half the size of Scarlett. He seems to be laid back for the most part and does not bother Bunnicula and Cleo which is good. They get the deciding vote on fosters. So far he does not seem interested in Scarlett or Dr. Dooley, but he is fine with them if they leave him alone and are not in his face. He loves all hoomans including the little ones. He is very tolerant of being handled by little hoomans.
He does have a couple of quirks. He is a little food aggressive with other dogs so he needs his own space for eating. He's fine with hoomans touching his food though. He also doesn't seem to care much for dog food and prefers hooman food. Mama hopes to cure him of this soon since he's not going to get much hooman food here. You see that tongue? It hangs out the side of his mouth almost constantly. The hoomans find this to be extremely cute. We hope that means he will be adopted quickly. Hehehe. His other quirk is that he likes to sleep on his back, paws in the air. The hoomans find this irresistibly cute as well.
In other news, Mama signed Scarlett up for training classes. She says it will be fun and Scarlett will become an expert at following commands. Maybe Scarlett will get her Canine Good Citizen certificate too. Mama has plans to have Scarlett become a therapy dog one day. Scarlett is very outgoing and loves all people. She would be good at being a therapy dog. She makes people happy. Just because she's cute, here are some pictures of Scarlett.
The last couple of weeks, Dr. Dooley set up an Amazon wishlist. He put down his heart's desire and some really generous hoomans actually granted his wishes. He got a ton of cool stuff in the mail and was so excited. He got a new bed, a carseat, some sweet potato chews, antlers, new squeaky balls, and some other things he didn't care too much for but Mama loved - shampoo, ear cleanser, Frontline.
Last bit of news is that this Thursday, we're dog sitting. We are going to have Chloe over for the weekend. We hope she likes us. Scarlett wants someone to play with. We'll let you know how it works out.
Talk to you all later!
Love,
Bunnicula, Cleo, Dr. Dooley, Scarlett & Ziggy

Bunnicula's Story
I was purchased as wee bun along with my first wife, by the brother of one of Mama's friends. My first owner did not have time for us, so he gave us to his sister, Mama's friend. After a couple of months, Mama's friend realized that her children did not play with us very much so she offered us up for adoption. Mama had always wanted bunnies, so she asked Daddy if they could take us. Daddy wasn't so sure at first, but Mama begged so Daddy gave in. He said that she could have us as long as he got to name me Bunnicula after one of his favorite book characters who just happens to be a rabbit.
When I was about 4 months old, my former wife and I came to live with Mama, Daddy, a doggy sister, and 2 little hooman siblings. The third hooman sibling came just a few months later. The hooman siblings ended up naming my former wife Pumpernickel. She was all black and they thought the word sounded fun.
Pumpernickel and I were not used to being indoor bunnies. We found it much more to our liking. No pesky bugs and the temperature was always right. Plus Mama set up a pen for us in the then unused dining room, and we had more room to bounce than in our old cage. Mama even started litter box training us which was quite interesting.
Mama took us to the exotic pet vet for a check up and learned that we had ear mites and were reaching (or had reached) sexual maturity. The first issue was easily remedied with some ear drops. The second issue required surgery which Mama agreed to since she thought we would be happier being able to stay together. She didn't want any baby bunnies. The surgery was arranged and everything went well. After a week or so of recovery, Pumpernickel and I were able to go back to sharing the same pen and no longer had to cuddle through the bars.
We lived happily for another 2.5 years. Then one evening, Pumpernickel died. I'm not sure why and neither do the hoomans. She seemed fine and then she was dead. The thing about us rabbits is that we are prey animals, and we tend to hide our illnesses well. We don't want predators to know when we might be sick or injured. The hoomans were sad. I was much sadder. You see, rabbits mate for life. Pumpernickel was my whole world. The hoomans showered me with extra attention and built me a brand new condo, but I missed my buddy.
Mama did some research and decided she needed to find me a new mate. She found the Georgia House Rabbit Society and made me an appointment for bunny speed dating. I was really shy about going on a date. I didn't want to interact with any of the girl buns they put me with. The match maker said that is a good sign with rabbits though. One girl bunny was really persistent. Her name was Rosa and she liked Mama right away. Mama agreed to a trial bonding. I did not like Rosa. She came on too strong. After several weeks, it looked like we could learn to get along. We even bonded for a short while. Although Rosa's assertiveness turned me off and I began to fight with her. Four months into the bonding process (which is long), Mama and the match maker decided to try a new girl with me. I was happy. Mama and the hoomans were sad since they seemed to love Rosa. They said she was more like a dog than a rabbit and very outgoing. That is probably why I didn't like her as much.
When we got back to the rabbit center, the match maker put me with a boy bunny first. He was black and reminded me of Pumpernickel. I liked him. Then I was introduced to Cleo and I thought she was okay too. The match maker and Mama decided it was probably safer to go with a girl bun since boy-girl bonds are much more common and often easier to achieve. That's when Cleo came home with us. I was really nervous around Cleo at first. She is a little assertive too, all girl bunnies are, but she isn't dominant like Rosa was. After a week, I allowed Cleo to share my space. We have been together ever since. We just celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary a couple of weeks ago.

Dr. Dooley
Hello ladies and gentlemen. It’s Dr. Dooley. I am still waiting on a forever home. My foster family loves me very much, and I love them. It’s just that having my very own forever home and family would be even better. I promise I will not disappoint. I may be an older fellow, but I can keep up well. I love going for long walks with my foster mom and foster pug sister. I can run like a horse. My foster mom says that I literally trot. I am laid back and get along with pretty much everyone – other dogs, little humans, cats, and even rabbits. My foster mom can actually trust me to free roam in the same area as our house rabbits without any problems. I am good at listening, and she once told me that rabbits are not for chasing so I do not bother them. I like to watch them play. I continue to wear a belly band indoors and work on the indoor marking, but I have been going days between wetting my pad. I just needed a consistent walk schedule. I am fully crate trained and will go in my crate when told to. I will often hang out in there when I want to snooze in peace. I am also good about not chewing on anything I should not. You will not have to fear for your furniture, shoes, or other personal items with me. I am perfectly leash trained. I rarely ever pull, and I enjoy walking alongside you or only slightly ahead. My foster mom is doing a good job working with me on not chasing cars or barking at them driving by. I regressed after a trip out of town, but she is getting me back on track. I do enjoy a nice car ride. I travel well. I also learned the command “down.” I remember when I first came to my foster family that I would not even “sit” when told to. Now I’m an expert at “off, sit, leave it and down”. I have done really well with maintaining my weight and am around 23 lbs. If you would like a calm, low maintenance, sweet tempered pug, I am the one for you. Check out SEPRA's website for adoption information. Don’t forget to mark Dr. Dooley on your application.

Cleo's Review
Yesterday marked the 2 week anniversary of when the hoomans brought home Scarlett. It was also the day that I mustered the courage to check out the strange looking box Mama brought home. She calls it a bunny castle and says it is for Bunnicula and I. Bunnicula doesn't care too much for exploring so it was up to me to determine whether this castle thingy wasn't a death trap of some kind. First I took a quick look under and over. When all looked clear, I jumped up to retrieve the treats Mama had forgotten on top. This castle thing had some openings offering a good view from all sides as well as a quick retreat. Blinkies to that.
The castle thing smelled really good. It smelled a lot like wood so I took a bite. Turns out it is wood! Soft pine I think. Super blinkies for that.
A tunnel of some sort would have made the castle thing even cooler. Mama says she didn't get the whole set because we do not have the room to store it. Blah... Just get rid of the hooman stuff. Then the whole house can be wood boxes.
That would make me happy. Yes.
Laters,
Cleo
